PICNIC PICTURES PRESENTS "The Chestnut Tree" A film by Hyun-min Lee "The Chestnut Tree" is a
traditional 2d hand drawn short film directed by Hyun-min Lee, produced by Bert and Jennifer Klein, and executive produced
by Don Hahn. Set to music by Chopin, this charming story centers around a little girl and her mother as they revisit memories
under the Chestnut Tree.

BERT KLEIN (Producer) started animating at age 15 on "The Simpsons". He was a Disney animator for
a decade on such movies as "Hercules", "Fantasia 2000" (Rhapsody In Blue), and "Treasure Planet".
At Warner Bros. he was a Superving Animator on "Looney Tunes: Back in Action", and the Director of Animation on
"Fat Albert: the Movie". Most recently he was a Lead Animator on "The Simpsons Movie". He is currently
finishing up work on a new short film with Jennifer Klein and Executive Producer Don Hahn. JENNIFER
CARDON KLEIN (Producer) started in the industry as an animator at Warner Bros., and went on to animate at Dreamworks and Disney
on such features as "Iron Giant", "El Dorado", and "The Emperor's New Groove". She has also
worked as a story artist at Disney and Universal. She is currently finishing a new short film with co-director and husband
Bert Klein and Executive Producer Don Hahn. HYUN-MIN LEE (Director) is an animator from Seoul,
South Korea. She came to the United States in 2000, and has earned a degree in painting from Wesleyan University and a Masters
degree in animation from the California Institute of the Arts. She enjoys working in all areas of animation, but her
work mainly focuses on traditional hand drawn techniques. She cites the early Disney films as an influence on her work, and
has spent time training with animators Eric Goldberg and Bert Klein. Hyun-min currently resides in the Greater Los Angeles
area and continues to work on various animation projects. DON HAHN (Executive Producer) is a two-time
Oscar nominated producer of “The Lion King” which broke worldwide box-office records to become one of the
top-grossing films in motion picture history and still reigns on the Broadway stage. His film “Beauty and the Beast”
was the first animated film to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. In all, his films have been nominated
for 18 Academy Awards and have won two Golden Globe awards for Best Picture.
Born in Chicago Illinois and raised
in Southern California, Hahn was trained as a classical musician and artist before joining The Walt Disney Studios.
He began his producing career on the 1988 Touchstone Pictures fantasy “Who Framed Roger Rabbit.” His other
credits include “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “Atlantis: The Lost Empire,” “Fantasia 2000,”
and the live-action Eddie Murphy hit “Haunted Mansion.” Most recently Don served as interim head of Walt Disney
Animation Studios during it’s successful merger with Pixar. Don executive produced Picnic
Pictures' short film "The Chestnut Tree" and is currently the Executive Producer for Picnic Pictures' next
short film, directed by Bert and Jennifer Klein.
